Best Neighborhoods to Stay in near DC
Looking for luxorious hotels in Alexandria? Alexandria is charming city located right outside of Washington DC. Lots of tourists visiting DC decide to choose a a hotel in Alexandria because of its small town feel, proximity to DC, and safety. I’ve lived in both DC and Alexandria, and I would always recommend visitors to stay in the Old Town Alexandria neighborhood because of its walkability and European flair. Here are my favorite luxury hotels in Alexandria.
Hotel Indigo Old Town Alexandria: Waterfront Hotel
I stayed at Hotel Indigo for a few days during a power outage in my area. I loved how close it was to King Street. It’s directly on the Alexandria Waterfront and the views are priceless. The best restaurants in Alexandria are just a quick walk away and it’s about 15 minutes from the Ronald Regan Airport (DCA).

The Hyatt Centric Old Town Alexandria is located in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, my favorite part of the city.It’s a quick walk to historic landmarks, boutique shops, and some of the best coffee in the DC area. Amenities include a fitness center, rooftop terrace, and on-site dining options. It’s a great hotel for couples. Stay in and order from their restaurants. They offer American, Chinese and Indian cuisine. You can also request vegetarian, halal and vegan food.

I love the interior design at Embassy Suites by Hilton Alexandria Old Town. It’s a gorgeous urban oasis. It’s a great hotel for couples. Stay in and order from their restaurants.
